Hoshigaki Kisame is a prominent antagonist in the anime series Naruto Shippuden. Known as the "Monster of the Hidden Mist," he's a missing-nin from Kirigakure and a member of the Akatsuki organization.

Kisame's defining feature is his shark-like appearance, complete with pale skin, gills, and sharp teeth. He wields Samehada, a sentient sword that devours chakra instead of cutting. This symbiotic relationship grants Kisame immense power, allowing him to merge with Samehada and transform into a shark-like being.

He is first explicitly seen in Naruto Shippuden episode 8, "The Two". He's often partnered with Itachi Uchiha, though their personalities clash. Kisame is loyal to the Akatsuki's goals, believing in their plan for world peace, even if through forceful means. He is a formidable opponent, renowned for his massive chakra reserves and brutal fighting style.
